Gigi's Gear - J Crew Japan Love tee

25 wks, 39" belly

Top (S): J Crew Japan Love tee (52460)

Sweater (S): J Crew Jackie cardigan in cerise (Other oranges here, here, here and here)

Pants (4): Old Navy maternity low-rise skinny cargo (Similar non-maternity here,

here and here)

Shoes: J Crew (Similar here, here, here and here in soft gold metallic)

Tote: Banana Republic (Similar here and here)

If you purchase this shirt, your chest may be punctuated with an orange embroidered heart in a very interesting place. I like the tee overall. I like the colors & of course the donation aspect. It's the tissue slub type, which we know is thin to begin with and prone to holes. I don't think I'll put it in the dryer. I may even handwash it since it's so lightweight. If I were pre-preg, I might size down to a XS as opposed to my usual S, though. If you want get closer to a tighter fit, I suggest sizing down one. If you want to ensure slack, get the size you take most often.

Necklace: Macy's (Similar here and here)

Anyone get the Japan Love tee?

Gigi's Gear - Anthro's Floreat + a peacoat

I got so much wear out of this peacoat before our weather turned warmer. The top is one I purchased during last year's maternity stint. It's a bit oversized and slides around a bit, but I just wear a tank underneath.

Jacket (6): J Crew indigo pea jacket (review here)

Here's one from Land's End, same price, better return policy. And one from Motherhood for $29.99

I'm glad I didn't wait till fall to wear the pumpkin-ish cardi. It's been looking fine this spring.

Gigi's Gear - When Doves Cry

The title should really reference the Loft sweater since that has a pretty rosette. But why pass an opportunity to reference one of my music heroes, Prince!

I felt great when I put on this outfit, so happy to top it off with my rumpled J Crew jacket from SP09. G Money said that he liked the outfit, but had to go and add that the jacket had a Prince flair. It was bad timing. I was running late, per usual, but he referenced Prince so I had to stop & do the step from the video (mute speakers as it doesn't have the original song, dance sequence at 3:21- 3:40). Prince lovers know that part at the end when he howls it out.

When doves cry...baybee! Baybee! Bay-bay-baaaaaaaaaaaaayyyyyaaaaaay! Oh-ooh-whoah-ooh-whoah-oohhh-oooh-ooo-o!

I wore the jacket again a day or two later. The Prince comment was repeated. Had to do the dance, although running late again. Thank gawd I still have my balance. Next time I'll hide the jacket over my arm so G Money won't notice it. Speaking of Prince (sigh) I tell you, sometimes I really miss the music & times of the 80s. I saw Janet Jackson last week. I was hoping to write about it, but haven't had time. Maybe in the future. But back to Prince. I'm saving for the Purple Circle. I plan on dropping $700 without blinking to sit there next time Prince is in town.

p.s. - J Crew's Shelby dress is now $39.99 in-store.

p.s. X 2 - Talbot's 30% off in-stores & in outlets has been extended thru today. Look for the clear, lucite bracelets from the catalog ($19 and $24), sold out online. I found one square & one round in-store yesterday. Woo hoo!

Old Navy - BOGO 50% off begins today. Gap family cardholders can use their card for an additional 20% off STUFFSAVE. Both specials are good thru 5/1. BOGO not good on clearance. If not expecting, I'd look for the racerback tank in tie-dye pattern they're calling black stripe. And the tiered gauze skirt. This year's version looks a little shorter & more doable for me (5'2") than last year's floor sweeper.

Gigi's Gear - white tunic

A white tunic is so easy.

24 wks + 2

The scarf is the perfect camel color for me. It's a Macy's Everyday Value, which means it doesn't go on sale and coupons aren't good on it. Lots of pretty color choices and only $24.98. I've seen them in about 3 stores and in each location they were folded on display, as opposed to hanging. There's a bright, rich orange that I have stopped myself a couple of times from getting ;).

Necklace: Macy's 09 or 10 (Similar here, here, here, and here)

Scarf: Macy's Style & Co (Similar here)

Gigi's Gear - Gap dolman maternity sweater

I'm happy to report I'm mostly keeping my same style of dress. No maternity mumus for me. We've come a long way since 60s & 70s maternity wear!

19w+1

waist = 36"

Sweater (S): Gap maternity (Similar, non-maternity here here)

Jeans (6): Old Navy skinnies, 2010 (Similar maternity and non-maternity here and here)

One surprise is that belts are comfortable and a necessity for the maternity jeans I have.

Belt (L): J Crew (Similar here and here)

Introducing a cute, pair of sensible heels. I figure I won't be able to wear my regular 3"+ this summer, but I wanted to have a heel option. Also, I don't find gray leather pumps to be common, so these really appealed to me.

Shoes: (7.5): Adrienne Vittadini (Similar here and great color choices in this one)

Bracelet: J Crew (Similar (Similar here and here)

Hope you have a good weekend...

Gigi's Gear - More Skittles!

Another Skittles inspired outfit. The first one was here. My favorite Skittles are the ones that come in the purple packet w/the berry flavors. This, of course, is the original packet.

Mother Nature finally flipped the switch & it's so much hotter now than when I wore this outfit. I'll have to keep the henley top in mind, though, because it could work with shorts. Mostly moving onto shorts, white pants and maxi dresses!

Gigi's Gear - forever 21 floral

Whenever I would see pregnant women walking in the sweltering heat, I'd always feel some of their pain. Or at least I'd like to think I did. I envisioned swollen feet and complete discomfort. I silently wished them well and the feeling that it would all be worth it. When I wore this it was 90 degrees. I definitely got a few looks when I took a couple breaks on mall couches. I may have looked big and uncomfortable, but I felt great. Maternity dressing has gone as well as I expected. Probably a little easier in some ways since I've been able to stay in non-maternity tops. One awesome thing is...I'm no longer worried about what size my stomach is. Well, not worried about whether it looks flat or not.

27 wks + 5

Top (L): Forever 21 (Similar here, here and here)

Shorts (4): Old Navy maternity twill shorts (Similar non-maternity here, here and here)

One thing not so fun thing is that I was in-between sizes pre-pg and am in-between sizes in maternity pants. I'm still wearing 4s or 6s. I wish I had known I'd need a 6 in these and not a 4. Oh well.

Kathy of JCAUNC Mom sent me J Crew's rose gold dangling disc necklace fo' freeeeee. I was lucky to be the 1st to see her post on it. What a sweetie! I am wearing it doubled around my neck w/J Crew's silk tie ribbon necklace. This dangling disc necklace also came in a regular gold tone.

ETA: I'm disappointed to learn that 'pregnancy brain' is real. I'd like to stay in denial, but it's getting less and less possible. I chalk it up to my thoughts being on baby to-do lists more than some temporary, inexplicable impairment. At any rate, the correct Kathy that lovingly gave me her necklace is from Two Hands Full of Daisies. Thanks again , Kathy :)

Necklace: J Crew dangling disc (Similar here, here and

Necklace: J Crew silk tie (Look for something like this or this and tie some silk ribbon on it.)

Gigi's Gear - really easy

I wore the heck out of this outfit for a couple of weeks, washing the pieces every 2 or 3x I wore them. It was so easy to put in and I like that it looks like something I'd wear pre-pg.

21 wks + 6

Tank (6): H&M 2010 - available again this year. I got a size 8 last week.(Similar here, here and here)

Pants (6): J Crew (Similar here and here)

Shoes (8): Banana Republic (Similar here, here and here)

I preferred the shirt buttoned w/the stripes peeking out below.

Chambray top (maternity S): Motherhood now $6.99 (Similar non-maternity here, here and here)

Necklace: J Crew trap glass (Similar here, here and this red one)

ETA: I found another outfit w/the same tops, different necklace, bottom & shoes:

Necklace: J Crew pearl twisted hammmock necklace (Similar here and here)

Pants (4): Old Navy maternity cords

Shoes (8): J Crew Juliet serengeti (In the same vibe here, here and here)

I'm listening to Soundscapes on Comcast and heard the most beautiful song. It made me stop what I was doing to take it in. Mars Lasar's Rapture. Um, not at all like the one that didn't happen last month. (slaps knee)

Also, I've been to a couple of Targets in the past few days and I noticed that the Calypso St. Barth's collection is marked down. Irl pics in this post and links to other blogger irl pics.

Gigi's Gear - tribal in the storm

They said a storm was going to batter our coast by 5pm this past Friday. Of course it didn't happen at the forecasted time. We did see some rain yesterday, so I had to bust out the trench. I knew it would rain at least once in May, which it did. I'm really surprised to be seeing rain in June.

26 wks + 1

Necklace
: not sure (I also have this F21 one)

Top (S): Forever 21 tribal top (Other options here, here and here)

I could've gone with
a medium in the top to ensure that I can wear it over the next couple months, but I thought it would be a little big. I'm happy with the S. The print looks funny if it's not positioned exactly level, but that doesn't bother me either.

Shoes (7.5): These are my non-kick ass shoes for damp weather, when I don't need my Sportos. They're a little ug, but I've decided to keep them.

Coat (PS): Banana Republic (This year's version here. Use BRGET30 for 30% off thru today, 6/5)

If you don't have a trench, I highly recommend one. They're good over casual wear, business attire and I would wear it over some dressier options, as well. I think you can't miss with tan but black would be an excellent alternative.

Thanks for visiting :)
