Hurricane Damage? Pottery Barn Kids Will Help

I just opened up a nice e-mail from Pottery Barn Kids announcing that they are offering 15% off in-store purchases to families whose homes have suffered recent hurricane damage. That would include us. I'm leaning towards putting in laminate or hardwood floors in R's room instead of wall-to-wall carpeting, and one area rug I'm considering is this subtle pink trellis rug. A 15% discount would help quite a bit. Thanks, Pottery Barn Kids, for this offer!

p.s. I assume that the PBK stores will require some kind of documentation; since I am in nearly daily contact with State Farm at this point, this should not be a problem!

Reminder: Last Day for 20% Off at Boden

Just a reminder that through tonight, you can still get 20% off (plus free shipping and returns) any order at Boden. Normally it's $58 but I got it for $46. Shop today (the discount reduces to 15% tomorrow and 10% on Saturday) at Boden.

An eBeanstalk Coupon Code for You

I have a coupon code for eBeanStalk.com that I am not using; I'm not sure how many times it will work for other people, but it's worth a try! It's "THANKYOU15%" and it saves you 15% on an order before September 1, 2009. Wondering what you'd buy? Here are two ideas:

I just spotted eBeanstalk's Pushing Car ($159.95) by Haba. How much fun is this?? If you've got two kids, one can push and one can enjoy the ride, then they can switch (yeah, right). There's a two-position adjustable handle, seat cushion and removable fabric pockets for toting little treasures, too. And the rubber wheels won't destroy your floors!

Setting your sights a bit (s)lower? How about this super-cool, eco-friendly Pirate Ship by Plan Toys ($54.95)>? My sister gave this to S. for his birthday and it is a hit with both of my kids (in fact, I like playing with it too).

Visit eBeanStalk.com and try out coupon code "THANKYOU15%" for 15% off orders placed by September 1, 2009. Enjoy!

Bargain Alert: Serena & Lily Moses Baskets

I've always loved pretty Moses baskets for babies but never bought one because they tend to be expensive--and, let's face it, how long do they remain practical? But if you want to buy one for your newborn without spending a bundle, I have good news for you. Sveral styles of Serena & Lily's popular (but pricey) Moses Baskets are now available for much less. With the sale prices as marked--plus the coupon code below--you can grab one of these beauties for as low as $100 (regularly $250, so it's a 60% discount). You can also purchase a monogram for an additional $12 which would make it an extra thoughtful baby gift. My favorite style: Chocolate & Chambray.

Enjoy an additional 20% off sale items with code JUSTFORYOU now through August 22nd at Serena & Lily.

Shade Clothing: Gymboree's Line for Women

Did you hear that Gymboree just introduced an all-grownup line of clothing? It's called Shade Clothing, and it's cute, modest, mom-appropriate clothing that I'm guessing will appeal to many of you. It looks promising to me. I like the low price points and the free shipping/returns (no minimum) that they're offering to encourage you to try the brand out. One of my favorite looks, shown at left: "Cozy Weekend" outfit, including plaid roll cuff shirt ($39.50), chunky open cardigan ($54.50), and cami ($14.50). Mamas-to-be, note that there is also a small but decent selection of maternity wear, too. Visit Shade.

One of my favorite Etsy shops for personalized stationery is Inkspot Workshop and now it has own spiffy online shop here, featuring "hand crafted paper goodies that make you smile." Free Shipping at Tea Collection

I know that many of you are fans of Tea Collection, so I wanted to make sure you knew that this weekend you can get free U.S. shipping on any order (see end of post for coupon code). There's no minimum. I'm buying these French Terry Cargo Pants for S.; it can be hard to find comfortable but durable elastic-waist pull-on pants for boys in sizes 4-7 and I've found that Tea Collection's always do the trick. You might also want to check out popular items like Tea's classic hoodies which tend to sell out early.

Newly Minted

There are lots of photo stationery sites out there, but Minted is unique in that it offers many exclusive designs by top independent designers like Egg Press, Elum, Dauphine, and Wiley Valentine (don't worry, I'd never heard of any of these either until I went to my 1st National Stationery Show, but now- as an experienced paper-phile- they are household names to me). These designers compete to have their top products offered at Minted. The cards, including birth announcements, birthday invitations, and personal stationery, are fresh and fun.

I am very impressed with Minted's photo birth announcements- again, this is a glutted market but Minted's announcements stand out for particularly eye-catching cropping (or bleeding) of the photo images. The prices are competitive for cards of this caliber- about $119 for 50 cards. Take a look:

Garden Feast Announcements by Helena Seo Deo Designs

Belle Memoire Announcements by Helena Seo Deo Designs

Scrolls Announcements by Duval Invites

Check out announcements, invitations, notecards and more at Minted.

Note: You can order a sample of any card at Minted for $7 and it will be credited towards a future purchase. Also, if you take a short customer survey you will receive a 10% discount! Definitely worth a few minutes! Visit Minted.

Chase's Treasures Charity Sale

Our longtime sponsor, baby/child gift boutique Chase's Treasures, is holding a special charity sale this month. Owner Jessica Pickholz is a breast cancer survivor (and dear friend of mine) who has chosen to donate all profits from the sale of top-selling kids' travel kits to the Susan G. Komen Foundation. The 3 piece sets are available in unisex monkey, frog, or giraffe designs, and you can grab them for just $16 each (normally $32). With lots of families taking road trips this month, this is a perfect gift for toddlers, preschoolers, or even young grade-schoolers. Buy one this month at Chase's Treasures and you'll know that 100% of the sale will go towards funding breast cancer research.

Enter code "Foundation" at checkout to receive 50% off any travel set at Chase's Treasures. Limited time only.

Free Shipping at Hanna Andersson

Hanna Andersson doesn't offer free shipping very often, and I know lots of you are looking for a coupon code (Google Analytics tells me so...). So make sure you take advantage of the free shipping that HA is currently offering, now through August 14th, along with a slew of discounts on back-to-school items ranging from dresses to tees to backpacks. You don't need any coupon code; just click through this link to shop, and free shipping will automatically be applied on all orders over $100. Enjoy!

Shown at left: Hanna's famous Organic PJs ($42). I swear by these for my kids. Pricey, but they last years and years and are soooo soft.

MyMomShops Sponsor: Scribbles-n-Giggles

Our newest sponsor, Scribbles-n-Giggles, is an online stationery and gift boutique started by mom Tera Castro, a fellow stationery-phile. After spending hours online searching for just the right baby announcements, party invitations, and stationery (hmmm...can anyone relate to that?) she started designing her own and having them printed at a local paper shop. Now, her designs are available at her shop Scribbles-n-Giggles.

There are two types of cards available- print-your-own or ready-made. The latter are digitally press printed on heavy card stock with a smooth matte finish. You can also have the reverse sides printed for an additional fee. Here are some of my favorite designs in either format:

"Gone Fishin" print-your-own invitation ($25 for digital image which you can print yourself as often as you'd like).

Blue Vines Return Address Labels ($18 for 36 labels, many other designs available).

Floral Print Personalized Notecard (starting at $9.90 for 10 cards with envelopes)

Modern Circle Art Photo Birth Announcement (starts at $1.77 per card)

Visit Scribbles 'n Giggles and enjoy 15% off your entire order with code "MMSHOPS".

MyMomShops Giveaway: Linaloos

Boston mom Jennifer Malone founded Linaloos when she started receiving compliments on the hand-made barrettes she had created for her baby daughter (who has twin older brothers). Jennifer started selling some of the barrettes and now Linaloos is sold in boutqiues throughout New England. The sweet hair clips and pins are handmade using vintage sweaters (so they are eco-friendly and "upcycled") with added felt and embroidery. Most designs can be ordered as a baby barrette, little girl barrette, elastic hair band or pins.

What I especially like about Linaloos designs is that in addition to the usual pretty pink barrettes you'd expect, there are some more unusual but equally attractive (and clever) ones. Check out the Peanut-Free Zone barrette, or the Red Sox Nation barrette, or the Reduce, Reuse, Recycle barrette, to name a few. Each costs $8.

It's also worth mentioning that even as a small business, Linaloos feels a responsibility to give back to the community. Linaloos has partnered with the Childhood Leukemia Foundation and donated hair accessories to them for their Hugs U Wear program, which collects donated hair and uses it to make wigs for children undergoing chemotherapy treatments. Each purchase you make from Linaloos is matched by a donation to the Hugs U Wear program so that a child can receive a special hair clip to wear in their new hairpiece.

Note: Linaloos is offering MyMomShops readers a $1 discount per barrette if they mention "MyMomShops" in the "notes to seller" section at checkout. Please note: after you do this, choose the "pay later" option so that Linaloos may first send you a revised invoice reflecting your discount.

Win it! 1 MyMomShops reader will win her choice of 3 barrettes from Linaloos (total retail value: $24). Here are the contest rules:

1) To enter, please comment on THIS post (click on "comments" below), indicating which 3 barrettes you'd choose (click here for all of the choices).
2) Post your comment by 11:59pm EST Thursday, July 30th. One entry per person, please. US addresses only.
3) Two winners will be chosen at random and announced on Friday morning, July 31st.
4) NOTE: If you wish to be contacted by e-mail if you win, please include your e-mail address in your comment. Otherwise you must check back on Friday to see if you won. Unclaimed prizes are forfeited after 72 hours.

Good luck!
