J Crew - 20% off coats

20% off outerwear continues at J Crew in-store & online thru Sunday, 10/24. The promo says 'all outerwear,' but of course there are some exclusions.

Italian wool blazecoat (31319) runs 0-14 and comes in black, camel, heather cloud & olive moss. 100% wool exterior.

Heather cloud - Size 4 - The fabric feels soft and luxe, like cashmere. It's beautiful to the eyes, too. The fit wasn't great. I would obviously need a petite (5'2"). The style isn't for me, but this is one of the better pieces in this release and the unique style is on par with the J Crew many of us miss. Check it out on Lindsey B.

* Speckled sweater-jacket (sale $158) - This looks cute. But the price.
* Stadium-cloth cinema coat (sale $280) - Very cute. It reminds me of a mens 60s car coat.

The prices on the high end items seem crazy. Personally, if I were in the market for a $1500 coat (Rideau), I probably wouldn't look to JC for it.

What do you think about some of the higher priced items at J Crew? Given that they are traditionally a 'mall store,' but have a benefit of status, do the price points work? Or do you feel they are stepping into an arena they shouldn't be in.

Also, what do you think about the collaborations, such as the $950 Mackintosh rousay trench coat. Do you like seeing the collabs? Personally, I go to J Crew for J Crew, not other brands. But that's just me.
