My Best and Worst Dressed Oscar Picks

I could barely stay up for the actual Academy Awards, but that's not the important part to me anyway. It's all about the red carpet! Which dresses did you like best? My favorite was Gwyneth in Calvin Klein. This column/sheath dress was daring and different without being weird or ugly. I love the cut-out of the neckline, the dropped waist with accent brooch, and the sheen of the fabric. Her hair was done perfectly to match.

My least favorite...definitely Cate Blanchette in Givenchy. Oy. I know some people loved this, but, what??? This dress reminded me of the body cast that I wore after I had scoliosis surgery when I was 12 years old. My cast had a big round cutout in front for my chest and stomach...just like this dress. And the inverted horseshoe beading below the waist? Also very strange. I can't figure out those neon yellow areas on her shoulders, either. Is that part of the dress, or a glare on my computer screen?
