Haley - Sang the Janis Joplin tune. She has the vocal quality, but not the life experience. That's the problem that I have w/Idol. Most of the kids are too young to take the lyrics a memorable level.

Casey - Sorry, Casey. I missed most of his performance. I now realize it didn't hold my attention & was messing around with 2 different size M Amie dresses, deciding which to keep. Size M is definitely the right size at the moment over my usual S.

Lauren - Performed Natural Woman. I like her voice. She seemed a bit wobbly, physically. Same thing w/singing the lyrics great, but not having life experience behind it. I'm not sure she'll make it to the final 3. The competition just might not be a match due to its grueling nature. As far as the song, of course I think Aretha's version is the best ever. However, if you get a chance, check out the Diva's Live version. Gloria Estefan's contribution was memorable to me.

James - I kind of wasn't feeling the ballad, While My Guitar Gently Weeps. However, James knows how to tear up those high notes, though. Smart choice. He's been thru some things in his life and it shows in his delivery.

Scotty - I love his vocal quality. Oh, please, I pray Scotty works on his stage presence. He was totally scrunched up in his upper body. Definitely didn't unleash a masculine sex appeal, which is imperative for many Elvis songs.

Pia - She's just gorgeous. Song? Eh. I would've removed a bit of the vibratto and focused on her body movements. She's a singing head. JLo is right. Pia definitely needs to work on her body movements. Maybe it's the heels restricting her movement. Pia should steal a page from Fantasia's playbook and kick off her shoes or something.

Stefano - I think he would be so great as the smaller, higher note hitting guy in a boy band. Can anyone see him as a solo performer? Maybe behind the piano. He's good w/it and that gives him some power. Maybe be a younger Jon Secada. Meh for me. He's lucky to have JLo on his side. I still think she and/or Marc Anthony are going to help him in his career.

Paul - This dude is still here? What a curiosity. When I hear the contestants, I try to imagine whether I would get a craving to cue up their song on my MP3 player or hear their voice while driving around. Paul's not my style.
The McDonald's commercials! It's been quite awhile since I had any burgers from them, but when I see those golden arches + the burgers in the commercials I immediately want a Quarter Pounder w/cheese. And a freaking Coke. Stop it! I just told G Money that the baby & I want one, but he said no. I could jump in the car & go get one, but I refrained. Yep, I let him tell me what to do a couple times a day.
Looooooooooove that Ryan Seacrest lost control of the show. He has no rhythm and it cracks me up. The show needs to be a little spontaneous now and again. I super wasn't buying Christian Slater in the audience and it seemed so desperate to promote the new show. Untiiiiiil they let us know that was his daughter next to him. She was cute. I'm 4 minutes into Christian's show and not buying it. If they could get the content down to a G-rating and replace the black dude w/the horrible 80s, black man jokes, it would be great as a Saturday morning kids show. All camp.
Who else watched...
