I hope you enjoyed my coverage last week of the 2011 New York International Gift Fair held at the Javits Center. I had a fantastic time visiting the show and was so honored to be one of the 10 judges who chose the "Best New Products" in the Baby & Child division. I already shared my top picks with you; now you can check out the official winners:
BLOGGER’S BEST:
Maple Landmark, Inc. (Middlebury, VT) for Rocker-Feller Rocking Horse. A finely-crafted rocking horse featuring laser-engraved details, made from responsibly harvested solid pine with a non-toxic finish.

TOY:
Winner: Tegu (Rowayton, CT) for Magnetic blocks. Wooden blocks with tiny magnets safely embedded inside. Blocks are made from eco-friendly hardwoods.

DÉCOR:
Winner: Oopsy daisy, Fine Art For Kids (San Diego, CA) for A to Z Animal Prints. This giclée canvas wall art featuring colorful animals is stretched by hand over a wooden frame with a decorative edge (no need for framing).

GEAR:
Winner: MadPax (Phoenix, AZ) for The Spiketus Rex. Creative creature backpacks that allow kids to store everything from books to gear in their own style.

APPAREL:
Winner: Loralin Design (New York, NY) for Handmade Sweater Basket. A beautifully packaged gift set consisting of 100% cotton sweater and matching shoes.

The next edition of NYIGF will take place August 13th-18th, 2011, again at the Javits Center. Before that time, I'll be attending several other fantastic trade shows here in New York (oooh, I am so lucky to live here where it all takes place). The first one is just around the corner...the International Toy Fair next week. Stay tuned for all of the top finds!
