Running On Coffee covers running related topics on her blog. It's interesting, even if you're not a runner. She tried some items from Talbots not too long ago. Here are her irl pics:

Cashmere short-sleeeve sweater - This has the texture of merino and not a fuzzy cashmere, if that makes sense. It's still soft and very nice. I have oatmeal heather and like it better in person than on the web. It's a khaki tan type color. The PS fit exactly & I'm happy with it, which is great since it's fs.
* Loop-trim dress - I'm so glad I ordered the 6P and not the 4P. It fits great & looks good like the regular size seen in this post.
* Signature Fit Cotton twill crop pants - I ordered and like the black in size 6P. I am not 100% sure about the length because I agree w/Stacy 'n' Clint'n that crops can chop up the leg, esp on a petite. However, I tried them on w/a low, art deco heel and they were cute. They weren't final sale, so I could return them but won't. I'm curious about the pretty varsity color, but I've gotten sucked into buying colored pants elsewhere and never wore them. If I went to the Talbots outlet, I'd definitely seek out bright pants to try. Someone asked if Talbots pants are mumsy. I wouldn't generalize them as such. I think some will work for some ppl and not for others. Mainly I don't recommend trying any on final sale if you're unfamiliar w/the fit.
* Signature Fit Trouser jeans - Right out the bag, these are a mess on me. The fit is good thru the waist/hips/rear, but the trouser part is too big. I was convinced they had sent me the wrong ones, but they were correct. I will probably have them tapered a bit so they're not so wide from the knee out. They almost flare instead of trouse. ;-)
* Silk scarf-tie blouse - The 4P is a bit tight, unfortunately. The arm holes seem cut a bit high & then there's the problem of the length. It fits ok elsewhere and it's a matte black, not satiny as I had feared. I should have went for a regular 4 if it were available. I was just concerned it would be too long. Another thing I could have done was call customer service for measurements, but I didn't think of it.
Still waiting on a few more things in the mail. Will try to get up pics of everything when I have it all.

I finally received my order. No time to photograph, but here are my thoughts:
