This is yet another post on Talbots, but it must be done. They started a secret sale yesterday and it ends today. Scarves are $9.99 (one or two styles remain), shoes are $29.99 and dresses $39.99. Your local store may be closed, but you still shop online. Probably at least until 11:59 EST, if not PST. The price is ridiculous. Good ridiculous. And you're getting leather-leather shoes. Not leather, man-made sole shoes. Prices are automatically marked. If you see shoes that are higher than $29.99, then they are likely not a part of the promo. FYI, there are narrow and wide widths in many styles.
Leather city sandals - online #238991 - Size 8 - This color is called golden haze. They had 8 and no 7.5. I like the 8. My feet are a little swollen right now and usually do that in the summer regardless. There's padding at the toe and the fit is comfortable. It's feeling a little high, but I'm pretty sure that's because of the extra weight I have and different center of gravity right now.
I thought the shoe directly above was the leather chunky heel city sandals (C33121), but it's not. I did receive and return the suede chunky heel city sandals in sunshine. The straps cross horizontally on the foot and cut into my skin. I couldn't really get my foot in the 7.5. See the suede chunky city on Extra Petite and on Sew Petite Gal (+ lots of other Talbots shoes).
Patent leather pointy-toe pumps - C300115 - Size 8 - They only had an 8, which was fine because my toe area isn't narrow and doesn't taper. I need the extra space. Ema reviewed these shoes and I thought nice, but didn't think they were for me. When I tried them in the store I remembered how I often I pass on wearing JC's patent shoes in dusty rose because of the open toe. This is a pretty color w/covered toes. I swore of pointy toe shoes, but I'm making an exception on the because I think they'll look nice enough w/trousers and not like witch's shoes on me (emits cackle).
Faux-Patent & Lucite slides - F255115 - Size 7.5 - These pretty much did what I expected them to do. They look cute, but the lucite part cuts into my foot a bit. Sizing up to 8 might remedy this, but I'm not sure. Only $17.39. Oh, they flop when you walk, hitting the underside of the heel like a flip flop. Probably gonna be a return.
