Madewell - 30% off ends tonite

There was a fly in the house and I thought I got it with the zapper. I walked away to get a paper towel to dump it and when I came back, the sucker was gone. So either he played dead or there was an insect rapture that happened in my absence. It was the former because in a minute or two, he was zooming around. All flys are male right? While waiting for him to settle, I somehow ended up on Madewell online. Funny how one thing can lead to another.

I've had J Crew's linen Bermuda jacket (pictured) in the gorgeous, bright linen tile shade in my online cart. Today I saw the white version and didn't get excited. One thing I didn't like was that the buttons are hidden. On the white version, it makes the jacket look like a doctor's coat. Or like one of those guys in all white outside the airport, asking for donations for their little tin can. You know the ones that look like nurses. I didn't see the blue color in-store. Either it's sold out already or online only. The blazer isn't lined. This isn't a bad thing with summer coming. It just felt like a shirt jacket and not enough structure. I didn't like the linen texture either. I realize what linen is supposed to look & feel like, but I just didn't get 'the feeling.'


Madewell's Tangier blazer ($69.99) - This blazer caught my eye once again. I've like it each time I've looked at it, but passed until today when I decided against the linen Bermuda. The look I'm going for with this brighter color, as opposed to navy, is to pair it with some sunkist makeup. I hope it's as bright as pictured.

Madewell's New England stripe belt ($29.99) - Me likey.

Madewell's structured silk tank ($49.99) - The canvas color is beautiful. The black straps make it less lingerie-ish and more like a tank you can wear w/s shorts.

The Seaside Sandal ($119.99) - Cute. I'm a heel lover, so these are on the practical end in my book.

Madewell's California Coast Two-tone tee ($34.99) - I'm into the jersey right now. There's a pink sand color that's really pretty. I stood my F21 ground, though, and didn't get it. Which means, if it's something I can get for $17.80 or so, I'll look to F21.


Boo: Sale items are final sale. There are so few Madewell stores and not one in my area. We'll get one this summer. In the meantime, I've never been in one, so I haven't experienced the vibe of the store or touched the clothes. Gotta touch the clothes! I have ordered a few things and been with them, but final sale bites.
