I love, love, love the look of this wooden play camera from modern kids' shop Romp in Brooklyn, New York (my birthplace!). Sure, other tikes are using special digital cameras for kids these days. But your child will stand out with this totally hip, "wood toys are best" play camera that has superbly detailed moving parts- they can peek through the view finder, focus the lens, advance the film and push the shutter. And, lucky for you, no pictures to upload and put in albums (when was the last time you tackled that chore?) The 6" long camera- which is made of walnut, oak and alder- is crafted in U.S. by a small family-owned company. $25 at Romp.
