J Crew - marled mélange cardigan

J Crew's marled mélange cardigan (33962) runs XXS - XL and the color is called marled black poppy. When items run down to XXS, it's sometimes an indication that it runs one size large. Here are some measurements.

XS - chest = 33", waist = 29"
S - chest = 35", waist = 31"

Adding or subtracting 2" to the chest & waist info provided will probably give you the measurements of the size you need. So M probably has a chest of 37" and waist of 33".

Size S - If you look to the right of the photo, it looks a little wide underneath my arm and along the side body. I felt comfortable in the small and based on the size chart info, S would be the better fit if I don't want it tight. I'm thinking maybe it's supposed to be be a tad bit slouchy. A size small is often 34" on the J Crew chart when I've called for measurements. I don't know what their standard chart says. If you missed the marled cardigan or marled sweatshirt from the fall release, this is the same. Definitely a good deal on sale + a promo. It's currently $49.99. FYI, the care instructions say hand wash. Boo.
