J Crew - Ella dress

J Crew's Ella dress (41063, $138) runs 00-14. The online color choices are dark navy, ashen blue and bright papaya. The Ella also comes in a black/white print, which you can see on Shopping On the Fly and on Chronicles of my Closet. The black/white print (41064) the ashen blue are on sale in-store for $39.99.


Size 6 - The blue is pretty & the touch of green is different. As you can see, it's on the low cut side. The silk feels nice, maybe like a crinkly silk (?) as opposed to flat and smooth. No shine. I really love the color.


I thought the size 6 would be good, but it's too big as you can see under the arms.

Size 4 - I tried the size 4, which was a much better fit. Still a bit low cut in the front for me. However, I would add a necklace to break up the chest area and feel comfortable with that.

...but the side fits better.

I think you should size down at least one on this dress. At my average weight, I would probably get a 2. I'm usually 4 or 6P & 34C. If you have a thin frame &/or smaller chest, you might go down 2 sizes. Check it out on Summerilla.
