Hiding Out

R. loves the gift subscription to Highlights Magazine's Hidden Pictures Playground that my sister gave her. Perfect for the kindergarten set, each 32-page magazine has oodles of activities including word plays, matching games, and, best of all, fun hidden picture games with stickers. They are actually pretty fun for grown-ups, too (this is one of the "quiet" activities I really enjoy doing with her). One caveat- it's more like a "club" than a subscription; when you place your first order for $3.98 you'll get sent lots of nifty stuff including a free tote bag, but then they will automatically send you (and charge you) an additional $3.98 for a new set every 5 weeks.
