Size 6P - Overall I like the skirt and think it's nice.
I wouldn't wear it like this since my waist doesn't show a narrower contrast than my hips, but wanted to show you what a top looks like over the skirt. I'm wearing the cashmere short-sleeve sweater in oatmeal heather, PS. I'm very happy w/the sweater, which I purchased online.
I would not wear this skirt w/flats.
The belt adds some interest and definitely works.
The skirt has a matching jacket. I wouldn't wear the pieces together. It's just too much. However, I kept thinking how good Nancy Pelosi would look in it. I think she dresses well.
This is the same jacket as above. It looks totally different w/out the skirt. The cut & collar aren't a match for me, but it's definitely a cute idea. I don't have the info on the jacket & I'm not seeing it online. Sorry.
Oh and here is a size 4P in the skirt. Definitely does not work. It seems that I'm a 6P in bottoms at Talbots, but a few 4P skirts have worked. The cuts are different from piece to piece in each retailer and we just have to try them on when we can. That seems to be the only solution because the idea of 'usual size' is getting more difficult to pinpoint these days.
Talbots also has the ruffle tweed skirt (F69028) - Green donegal. It also comes in a black donegal weave. Regular & petite sizes. I thought I tried this on, but I'm not finding a photo for it. I might be thinking of the ruffle tier skirt from you know j'who.
Chime in...
