Around the World and Bach

My husband's birthday was yesterday and we had a memorable celebration- he won an Ebay auction of a personal performance by David Juritz, a violinist and guest leader of the London Philharmonic, who was featured in a New York Times article last Friday. David is travelling around the world "busking" on city street corners (i.e. street performing) to raise money for Musequality, the charity he launched to bring music education to children in Africa. The final stop of this several-month "Around the World and Bach" trip is New York, and on Saturday night he played in our living room (!!!) to a rapt audience of me, my husband, his parents, aunt & uncle, and four-year-old R. (who stayed up late for the occasion and was remarkably well-behaved). In addition to being a violin virtuoso, David is a fascinating person.
