Philosophy The Microdelivery Mini Peel Pads - When I read Veronika's review, I put these on my list. I wasn't brave enough to try the microdelivery peel. Sometimes I break out and didn't want to have that issue or just mess up trying to diy a peel. It got good reviews & seems easy to do. Also, you can return things to Sephora if they don't work out. I just decided skip the peel kit and go with these pads based on Veronika's review since her skin sounded similar to mine. I used one last nite and it's exactly as she described. I'm looking forward to seeing how my skin will look in a couple of weeks and I'm staying out of the sun, per the instructions. It's sans parabens, dyes and also missing other bad things that are in products we use. (sad fact of life, le sigh)
Philosophy Turbo Booster C Powder - My last esthetician and my current one have told me I need to do a Vitamin C serum. I haven't listened too well, mentally noting the prices of such products. If it were a cardigan, oh yeah. Skin care, I'm cheap. I recognize the value of products, so I do try to shell out the coins every so often. In light of the 20%, I searched for a Vitamin C product. I decided on this one. I used it this morning and it works exactly as reviewers described. I put a little bit of moisturizer on my palm and used the scoop that comes with it to put the Vitamin C in there. Psychologically my face feels protected, which is nice. It looks like a vial of baking soda and given how small the scoop is, it should last a long, long time.
Clarins Sun Wrinkle Control Eye Contour Care SPF 30 - I have an eye creme, but it tends to burn a little bit. Our skin is so sensitive there, which is why I want to protect what I have now. I picked this one after reading reviews of a few eye cremes. I tried it this morning and am happy with it. I had a little tearing much later than when I put it on, so I'm not sure if that was from fatigue and being in bright light or the creme settling in more. Will definitely keep using it.
Paco Rabanne 1 Million - I really liked the smell of this for both men & women. It was G Money's birthday at the beginning of the month and I almost got this for him. I know he would not love the packaging so I decided against it. He has since approved the sample spray I brought home so it may be a Christmas gift. I, on the other hand, adore the packaging. I'm sure this is intended to be sexy, but it's a bit kitschy. Bring it! I ended up getting Yves Saint Laurent La Nuit De L'Homme for him. He loved it. I thought I was bringing a completely new scent to the medicine cabinet, but he already had a version of it. I guess that's why it smelled good and like him when I considered it.
Sephora Collection Ultra Shine Lip Gloss - While in the store, I was suddenly in the mood for a gold lip gloss. I tried Nars' moon fleet, but it looked more like glittery Vaseline than a gold color. One of the wonderful consultants came up to me and asked if I needed help. She said the Sephora brand had a few. I was rolling my eyes behind her, thinking she should be upselling. I decided to keep an open mind because I do have an eye pencil by them that I like. She nailed it on the 1st try. I ended up with Reflex She Sparkles, which is a bright yellow gold shimmer according to the website (not pictured). The applicator is a little weird, but I'm getting used to it. Also, I like my lip gloss just a bit tacky to the touch and this is smooth and light. It's nice, though, and I'd try it again.
Did you shop this sale? Have any products you want to share whether you shopped the sale or not... As mentioned in another post, I'm in love with Maybelline Falsies Mascara. Love the stuff. Got it from Target for $5. Too bad it's not paraben free. Hopefully Maybelline will come out w/some mineral mascara and something healthier for our lashes.
Chime in...
