Last summer I posted about the impending arrival of a new
Pottery Barn Kids spinoff store in NYC called
Threads just a few blocks away from me (in fact, it's in the same building where I lived immediately after college). The store just opened, and features mostly the same baby clothing and gifts (sleepsacks, blankets, etc.) you see in the Pottery Barn Kids catalog, plus a few new items. The real benefit, I guess, is getting these items monogrammed in-store and not having to pay shipping. Overall, though, I was not too impressed. Maybe it is just the holiday selection right now, but I found the products a little staid and boring...not nearly as fun as other neighborhood stores like
Giggle. Plus they didn't want me to take pictures, though I got a couple beforehand (See above: the outside of the store, monogrammable onesies, and cute crib shoes).
I'm curious, what do you all think? If there were a
Threads store near you, would you go there for baby gifts instead of ordering online from
Pottery Barn Kids? Yea or Nay?
