New York & Co - bogo

I took one of my nieces out to look for jewelry for a dance she has coming up. We were working w/a basic black dress. She loves color and was looking for turquoise to go with the dress. I am always impressed that she gravitates towards color. She wore a red dress & carried a purple handbag for her junior prom. We ended up finding her goods at New York & Co. There was rounded moulding on the ceiling and carpet on the floor. Maybe there is carpet in the other NY & Cos, but I've never noticed it. I know there is definitely not the rounded ceiling and it makes a huge difference. It looked upscale and felt cozy. Everything in the store looked very cute. Women were rounding the racks with arms of clothing in their hands. I'm sure they were very inspired by the bogo, buy one get one 50% off promo. It's good on everything except for clearance items. I don't see the necklace online that my niece selected, but it's really pretty. It has blues & purples and is a crystal bib necklace. She got matching earrings & a matching crystal bracelet. Then she'll have her purple handbag from spring to go match. She & I both got the new Falsies by Maybelline. Loveth.

ETA irl pics Houndstooth wrap - It was eye catching on the hanger. Has a little sparkle to it.

Pearl and bead cluster necklace - Super duper cute. It's like the pearl cluster necklaces w loved last year. It has more clusters to the side, than concentrated at the middle. Still really purdy.

Goldendrop ribbon necklace - This looks quite a bit like the crystal libretto necklace and very pretty in-person.

Faux fur cowl - This was cute. They had it styled on the hanger of a green wool coat.I got a faux fur scarf last year from New York & Co. Irl pic of that here.

Elegant ruffle wrap - I haven't seen this in-person, but I like the ruffle, of course. I'm sure it's 100% acrylic.

Tiered chiffon cami - This looked really cute in person and just like you know j'who's . I have a couple of floral tiered camis from New York & Co and have worn them each a few times. They look good w/ON and JC cardis I have. The tiered camis I have are 100% poly. I know, shocker. This is a cotton/rayon/spandex blend.

Use 1511 for $30 off $75 or more, online only. Only one code at a time, so you'd have to pay for shipping. I have made a few purchases online w/New York & Co, but I usually just stick to purchasing from the store for the best deal. Usually you can tell them the code at the register and the cashier will apply it. This code won't work in that way, though, since it's online only. You can give up your email for $25 off. I don't know how that works -- if it's good online only or in-store, but I noticed the offer at the bottom left-hand side of the website. Attn teachers, you always save 15% off with ID.

Found this, too --> Just text the word CITY to NYSTYL (697895) to sign up for mobile alerts. You will receive a code for 20% off your purchase. This shopping offer will be valid through November 16th, in-store only. According to the Facebook fans, you can apply it on top of the BOGO. I haven't tried it personally. Just trying to help us all get the best deals. Please don't head to the malls or plazas this holiday season without first checking for printouts, codes & coupons...esp on Facebook. If I had, I would have gotten the 20% deal for my purchase yesterday.

Speaking of Facebook...we got Sade tickets! We don't have Amex, but forgot that G Money has his parents' card. Doh! We could have purchased tix 4 days ago when they were on private, pre-sale for cardholders. Yesterday I logged into the Facebook fan page for the code and this morning I wrote an instruction sheet for G Money to use it to buy the tickets. Well, he stopped paying attention to me at some point during the explanation and when he went to buy the tickets he didn't think he had a Facebook code, so he didn't enter it. (grrrrr, this is why women tend to be the best admins!) I didn't think he'd be able to view or select seats w/out the code. They implied that you needed it in order to buy tix as a Facebook fan before they go on general sale this Monday. As a result of his inattention, we did not save an additional $40 and he didn't get access to other seats that were on the floor. In short, we kind of botched the purchase. I decided to take partial credit for this botchedness because I put Code on the instruction sheet I gave him, but I should have put Facebook Code. Who the heeelllllllllll shops online and does anything without looking for a code? Men. Out of morbid curiosity, I had him look for seats using the code, but he told me the seats weren't as good as the one we got. I said sell it to me, sell it to me. I didn't want either of us to feel bad about the transaction or the seats after shelling out almost five hundred dollars. That's the most I've ever spent on tickets to anything. My heart fell back into my chest when I heard the total. G Money said no, really, I think we got better seats. I finally got home this afternoon & I have to agree. I think it worked out for the best. Now we just have 9 months to find out. Yeah, girl....we won't be seeing the sweetest taboo until August 2011.

Chime in...
