Mall Notes

If you're around your local mall or plaza this weekend....

DSW
I love their sale section. Refer to the color key to find out your additional savings. They have charts that break down the % savings. Anytime we're talking sale, I can roughly do percentages in my head. It's the only math I feel most confident about. *lol* Of course every DSW sale section varies, so these may not be available where you are. I had to share my top 3 that I saw.

Steve Madden P-Olive Cognac Lea (is what the box said) - $79.94 + 40%. This is how I calculate the sale price:

  • I round up to $80.
  • Then I think...40% off means we're paying 60% of the current price --> 100% - 40% off = 60%.
  • I take the 8 from $80 and the 6 from 60% and multiply them.
  • 8x6 = $48 is the sale price.

If I'm quick in my head w/it, I can decide whether to put them down or keep them in-hand. DSW has shopping bags you can carry, but I don't use them. That would add to the danger of going in there in the first place. I have a lace tie heeled oxford and actually remembered the fact while I was in the store, so I passed on these. They're about the same color, too.

Restricted "Linda" (grey) - $44.94 + 30% - I round up to $50. So 5 x 7 = $35, but they'd be less than $35 since I rounded up. I passed on these, too. If they were blue & white, they might've sunk my battleship.

Nine West - $59.95 + 40% - So I take 6 x 6 = $36. Are ya with me? *lol* Well, these shoes came home with me. Actually I left them at the store & tried to find them online, incl Ebay, for cheaper. I found the Smooch, which looks the same, but it wasn't available in this color/size. I went back to the store a couple days later to get them. Many ladies aren't fan of wedges, but I really like them. They generally don't make clicking sounds like heels and can look a little more casual, yet I get that lift I like.

Loft
Crochet stripe tee - Size M - I saw this on the rolling rack near the entrance and it drew me in. $19.99 + 30% off. Let's do the math! 2 x 7 = $14. I bought it and will share my outfit in the next few days. I sure wish I knew how to sew on a machine. This is a simple DIY. Loft rolls their % off sale promo around here and there. However, this time I noticed quite a number of final sale deals. And I mean deals. Like a navy sheath dress for $19.98 + 30% off. Might be worth a look at the sale racks as the 30% probably continues through this weekend. I find that sale merch can be found in the front of the store, so don't just head straight for the back.

"I don't always drink beer, but when I do...I prefer Dos Equis."
More like 31 wks + 5

Striped cardigan - Size S - The cardi was $29.99 + 30%. I walked away as I have something similar.
Dress (S): J Crew Arianna dress
Belt: Old Navy 2010 (Bow belts here, here and here)
Shoes (8): Talbots (Similar here, here and these with a bow)

H&M
They've been having a massive clearance sale. Items are as low as $1 in accessories, to $5 tops and so on. They have almost all of their sale merch at the front of their stores. I found a really cute bow belt for $1. There wasn't much else I was interested in, pregnant or not. I found a really cute regular price dress I want to share with you. But first check out these dresses from Milly.

And this FA2011 Daniela dress from Tory Burch

Now, have a look at this number from H&M ($39.99). I got a 6 and need to exchange it for an 8. The 6 fits well at the top, but it has zero stretch and it feels tight when I try to cross my arms or reach them up high. I'd rather have a larger size than it be too small. It's Milly or TB enough for me and about 10% of the price. These pictures don't really capture it at all. The buttons look like like they may easily scratch and they were a little difficult to undo, but I could swap them out if I choose. I figure this is good dress for trying to keep style and not minding spit up on it. Machine wash, line dry.

Sephora
I received a sample of Benefit's they're Real! mascara. Loveth!! The m/u artist said she was wearing it over a lash primer. I had zero hope that it would have the same effect on my shy lashes whether I used a primer or not. Cheeky packaging like Tarte Lights, Camera, Lashes! (faux snakeskin) is fun, but the product needs to perform for the long haul. The Tarte clumped on me after awhile, so no more cutesy packaging for me. The success of mascara usually begins with the brush. This brush is finely corrugated and grabs the lashes I'm aiming for, without applying too much product. I have the feeling that I've applied mascara, but it's not heavy. It also didn't bother me at all during the day. My lashes still looked pretty good 12 hours later. Washed off easily. I would definitely try a full size of this.

Talbots
I blogged about their sale yesterday. Yes, I went back and tried the sparkly, French stripe cardi again. PM was great, gave a different look than the PS. It also looked much better w/pants. I had a 10% birthday discount, so that made it even less than it's current, low sale price. I feel like I'm missing something I want to share. If something comes to mind I'll add it to the next post.

yeah, baby!

Thanks for visiting.
