I love Butter

Yesterday I recvd an order of Butter shoes from Gilt. Look at the pretty blue box.

Before I unveil the Butter, I have to remind you of J Crew's Georgi tassel heel. I found them online in the peach/ivory two-tone. I have wanted the black/ivory combo for awhile, but no luck in my size.

I was sooooo happy when I saw the following on the Gilt site. I love patent, spectator and two-tone shoes. Love, love, love. I wasn't too sure about the fan bow, but I figured I'd deal with it.

The shoes were made in Italy and have a leather insole & sole. Does it nail the Georgi look or what. Loveth! I have another pair of Butter shoes and got size 8 in both. They said to order a size up on the website & I'm glad I did. I paid $69 for these. I just saw they were available today in a Colorblock boutique on Gilt. Same price, but a black with hot pink combo. Very cute, also, esp if you like pink. It also comes in a pink base w/pink trim for sale on Endless for about $150. I wear very little pink, but (sighs) the Butter Skinny pump w/rose detail is so cute.

If you didn't know, Gilt is one of the sites with various retailer boutiques that are open for 2 or 3 days only. I never pay close attention because the most popular items sell out quickly. It doesn't matter if the boutique is open for 2 days if everything sells out in a couple hours. One of the best strategies is to preview the boutiques on the their facebook fan page. You won't be able to see the prices, but you'll get an idea of the items that will be available. Boutiques open at 9am on Gilt. All of this info & more is on the site. You get the hang of it once you start shopping on flash sale sites. My tip for first time shoppers would be to just log in and look. Don't get clutched up and attracted to price. I've seen items on some of these types of site that are available on Amazon for about the same price. You may think you're getting a deal and often you are, but the same item might be available elsewhere without rushing to make an impulsive decision.

The Little Pim Pimsleur language learning systems are currently available on Gilt. You can also find them on Amazon. When you look at the Gilt price, it doesn't look like a deal when compared to the Amazon price, but it is. You can buy each DVD for around $15 on Amazon. However, I didn't see the little bear or the flashcards for sale. Some of the packages on Gilt have flashcards. All packages have the bear, which I think is a great connection to the DVD for the child. I used Pimsleur cassettes (shows you how long ago) to learn a little French and to improve my Spanish. The system really works well and my French speaking friend was impressed with what I learned. I'd never had a French class before. Am I fluent in Spanish as a result? No. I would need to use the system consistently (haven't, haven't transitioned to CDs either) and get some sort of immersion for that to happen. I would definitely get this for my child if I had one. It's a great gift idea but ,truthfully, I would only spend the money if I really thought the family would use it. I definitely wish I'd had exposure as a young child. I would be hablar-ing up a storm. (slaps knee)
