ETA: pic of chambray tie-neck blouse
Gap's Give Get promo begins today! It's good thru Sun, 3/20. If you'd like me to forward a coupon to you, please email me: gigiofca at gmail. Don't be shy. It doesn't matter if you've lurked for months or years, just email for the coupon if you need it.
You'll receive an email w/a multi-use coupon good for 30% off in-store at Gap, Banana Republic & Old Navy. It's also good at Gap & BR Factory Stores. If I share the promo on Facebook, you don't get an online code. So send your email to me and your coupon will be good for multi-use in-store, plus it will have a one-time use online code. Gap will donate 5% of what we spend to the non-profit of my choice, Feeding America.

Thoughts: I usually don't like one-button, but I love the ruching around the closure of the 1st jacket. The middle trench looks casual, not too rigid or Inspector Gadget if you want a trench, but not that look. And the third item is a schoolboy style blazer for $98 before 30%.ETA: I'm back from the store & saw the trench (2nd item above). It's lightweight, and casual as I expected. Not a stiff or more sturdy fabric. However, it wasn't floppy. I think it's ideal if you like the sophistication of a trench, but want it to feel relaxed. Thumbs up. I also saw the schoolboy blazer (3rd item above). Love the fabric on it, even if it turns out to be a poly blend. It may feel even nicer than the navy schoolboy they released last year. Thumbs up. I saw them as I pulled a Lot's wife, turning to look back as I was exiting. I didn't turn into a pillar of salt (slaps knee), so I was able to go up to the items & touch them. I didn't have time to try them on, though.
I went to the store expressly to pick up the chambray tie-neck blouse (814261). I called my closest store to see if they carried it and they had a S. Woo hoo! I totally didn't expect them to have it at all. I meant to take a tape measure to compare S and M, but I just took the S home. Fit is great, maybe even a little loose. I wouldn't get P, though, because sometimes they feel too short in the lenth.
This is the blouse w/top 2 buttons undone. If ironed, you might sort of be able to wear it that way. If you wear the blouse in a bow and then undo the bow, you'll have wrinkles. So I guess you'd want to leave the house w/it ironed & undone. There is a ruffle sewn to the right side of the blouse (left side if you're looking at the 'puter screen). Forgot to snap a pic of the ruffle. Then the 2 ties at the neck. They're stitched down, so not removable. The fabric is thin & fluid, along the lines of JC's cotton lawn blend, but not that floppy. Fine enough to wear alone in the right temps and under sweaters.
Love. This. Blouse. The song New Shoes popped into my head, so I danced to the mental refrain -- I put some new shoes on and suddenly everything's right -- while I put it on the hanger. Nothing's wrong today. The blouse just made me really happy. It's fun to see something from the Gap that I love. They've been low on my radar.
Banana Republic
Thoughts: Some of us are still hunting for a kick @ss chambray. Give the Gap a whirl. As far as the suiting, I have a black suit from BR and a white, Fantasy Island one. LoVeTh! They look great and I feel chic. It's so nice to be order tall (I'm not) and petite (me, 5'2") and have the items fit really well right out of the plastic bag. I don't own a full J Crew suit, so can't compare.Old Navy
Thoughts: A romper I believe they intend for wearing in public. I'm thinking lounge would be appropriate at the very least. I love the drawstring mock-neck jacket. I live in these at home. I don't claim any college teams, but if you do, consider picking up a tee for you or a man in your life. We're a little early for Father's Day. You would be just outside the 45-day return policy if you order it now, but if you know it will fit...The other day I mentioned Gap family pricing. Sometimes it's better to buy something while it's on promo, the day or two before the Give Get. They often bump the price up once Give Get kicks in. The other day, Old Navy's v-neck layering cami was $3. The price went up, but you can get 2/$5. After 30%, that makes it 2/$3.50. In this case, it's a better deal during this promo.
And just so you know, I had another post planned, but I've been trying to code something on my blog for about 3 hours now, between last nite and this morning. Gigi coding. Don't laugh.Yes, that's my brain smoke you see thru your monitor. I might have to bake some cookies later for some soothement. Yep, that's a word in my dictionary.
