Haley Reinhart - I take that back about order. This one probably ranks as my favorite performance of the night. Only goosebumper in the group. She started off strong & caught my attention. I disagree with Randy's critique. Haley did very well. Not only that, she hit the chorus better than Alicia Keys. Uh huh, yes I did just say that and stand behind it. Alicia reaches. I have to agree w/JLo that Haley needs to get out of her head. If she does, she could go far.
Thia Megia - I didn't get goosebumps, but she really tore her song up. I admit I thought she was a bit young for the competition and I didn't want her to go thru as she'll have plenty of other opportunities. I thought the other chick (got dropped on her 25th birthday) should have gotten a shot. However, I am looking forward to more from Thia. Maybe the judges were right to keep this one. I hope no one makes another Michael Jackson reference, though. There is only one MJ and I don't see him in little Thia or the Bieb. Shooooot....
Kendra Chantelle - She's a really good singer. I think sometimes she put a little extra on it with the oh-oh-oh like Christina Aguilera does. Y'know, when Christina goes oooh whoah oh-oh-oh-oh oooooohhhh! Nevermind. Kendra didn't do it too much & I think more of her personal style showed than any of her influences, which is good. She needs to work on her stage presence, though. I.e. when she sang the word 'I' or 'me,' she'd point to her chest or shoulder area. Not saying she should have a dance routine either. She just has to figure out how to work the stage without physically rambling around on it.
Naema Adedapo - She really glows. I like watching her. I can see her last awhile in the competition and move into a jazz career. She needs to ground her vocals more. They were coming more from technique & performance than from her heart, but I chalk that up to nerves. She finished really, really strong.
Pia Toscano - Another good looker and I love her outfit, stage presence and everything. She might have been one of the best with her standing ovation, but I wasn't on my feet. Listening to her last notes, I realized the difference between the guys and girls. The guys that hit the crazy falsettos know how to switch to that vocal position and hold it. The girls going for the high notes are reaching or just shouting to get there. Head voice, ladies.
{ - end of my faves - }
Julie Zorilla - She sang Kelly Clarkson's Breakaway. She's really beautiful. I think in this case the arrangement was in the wrong key. Poor thing. I think she'll get some votes because she's so beautiful & has the entire package w/clothing, etc... I won't count her out, but at this time she definitely needs to bring some soul. I think she is either covering her her emotions & only performing or she just doesn't have the life experience to create memorable performances.We'll see.
Rachel Zevita - I've kept focus on the singers I like. However, I am mad at Rachel for annihilating Criminal. At first I thought she was doing a jazz standard. Then I thought she was doing a show song. I was downright mad when I figured out it was Fiona Apple. Well, at least Fiona gets some $ out of it for allowing usage.

I'm so mad the quirky girl, Emily Anne Reed didn't make the top 12. She had a very old sound about her and she was so charming. Can't you just hear a song of hers in Anthropologie or in an indie movie? Both. And more! I could listen to a full album of her. The show could really use her. Right now the overall feel of the group is very average. There's more spark on the guys' side, even if we feel like a couple of them would rather be looking at themselves in the mirror.
So...what'd you think about the girls? Esp those of you that were looking forward to the group?
