Just Say No

In case you've ever wondered about the "BridesmaidAid.com LLC" copyright on this site, here's the scoop. Back in 2000, my then co-worker Ellen Horowitz and I came up with the idea for BridesmaidAid.com, a fun (and funny) site about being a bridesmaid (we were both serving that role for what seemed like the umpteenth time). The site really took off and we even had 15 minutes (OK, make that 15 seconds) of fame on The Today Show. Fast forward 7 years, 2 marriages (1 for each of us), and 4 kids (2 for each) later. Ellen and I don't update BridesmaidAid.com that regularly, but BridesmaidAid.com LLC provides me a business structure for MyMomShops. And we still get the occasional media inquiry for BridesmaidAid.com. This is how I ended up recently quoted in The New York Daily News. They asked me how (if?) you can ever turn down being a bridesmaid. Read my answer here. As for that new movie 27 Dresses, I am invited to a fundraiser tonight where they will screen it.
